I PASSED MY TEST! 

I can now do the job that I was hired for... because I have my real estate license!  I am so excited!  Today is a good day.  God is good!

Hello Strangers...

I am back!  Hello All.  I have missed you! Things have been crazy around here.  Started my new job... kinda... I haven't officially started the job I was hired for... have to get my real estate license first.  Which taking the test soon, so I am anxious to get that over with.... I am in Marketing right now with some super fabulous girls that I am not going to want to leave.... :( but the transition will be good.  I am excited about Christmas... here is my tree for you to stare at until I come back for more... until then, HAVE A GREAT DAY!

BIG changes....

Hello All... Yesterday was a BIG day for me.... excited, emotional, stressful... a little bit of everything.  I am moving on to better things in my life... I accepted another job!   I am sad, happy, NERVOUS, scared, stressed, and anything else you can imagine.  I love the people I work with and I don't want to leave them but an opportunity has come up that I can't resist.  So the blogging world for me is probably coming to an end.  I am not going to have the extra time that I have now to blog... I know everyone is sad :)  I will keep you updated I promise.  I am really excited for my future to come!  ta ta for now.... xoxo

Under the weather..

I am feeling a little under the weather. I wish I was home in bed, with a big bowl of mac and cheese and watching a movie... that sounds so delightful

I need to be detoxing...

Thursday... got off at noon and headed to a local pizza joint called Tim's.  My family has eaten pizza every Friday night since I can remember.  Since $1 beers have moved to Thursday, we have switched to Thursday nights. So Thursday, we went at noon... why not start early?

Then that night we went to Mojitos for Mexican with this group of guys... 

  

Friday... I got off at noon again and went with mom to get ready for the party!  We went to Ronnie and Nancy's to have a fun filled night of birthdays...

I know that I have been missing in action.  I just haven't had the energy to think about something to blog about.  My life really isn't that interesting so I have no idea why I thought blogging would be a good idea.  HA!

So what have I been up to... well last weekend I helped throw an engagement party for my friends Lindsay and Kyle.  It was a lot of fun! I have to say, the decorations looked good as well.  I don't have any pictures.  I never have my camera.  Once my friends put them on facebook, I will add them.

Tomorrow my brother comes home for a week!  He lives in Seattle and goes to culinary school.  I am so EXCITED to see him.  This week will be tons of fun, drinking, eating, and family time.

Friday night, is my mom's big 50th birthday party at their friends house.  I cannot believe she is 50.   It is going to be tons of fun.  I have to admit, my family is pretty entertaining.  I just wish Kara and LL were going to be there and then the night would be complete.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOMMA!  I hope your birthday is everything you hoped it would be.   You are a beautiful person both inside and outside.  I cherish every moment we spend together.  Thank you for being the mother you are. I wouldn't be the person that I am without you.  I love you soooo much!  Happy Birthday!

Then Saturday, I am going to the Bama game with J and his family.

Then Sunday, is another birthday celebration for my momma and aunt Lisa at Bobbie and Papa's!  They were born on the same day.  Crazy! I don't know if Kara and I could share a birthday.  We both require too much attention.

Pray Pray Pray

Time to Wake Up

Elizabeth had a good restful night of sleep. The meds were lowered a couple of times yesterday, but Liz was beginning to fight the tubes and when her heartrate rose they induced sleep again for her to rest. Praise God that at this time her motor skills seem to be functioning well as she was kicking her legs and bending her arms!!

Today is a new day! They began weaning Elizabeth off the sleep meds at around 6:30 am and are waiting for her to wake on her own. Elizabeth is ready to come off the ventilator because she is breathing on her own (another PRAISE!). They will leave it in until she can follow some basic commands that the doctors give her.

SO, this is a critical time. Our prayers are being heard, but we need to pray now more than ever!

PRAY. Pray that our Elizabeth would wake up on her own. Pray that it would be easy for her.

PRAY. Pray that her eyes would open and that she would be able to follow commands that the doctors give her.

PRAY. Pray that she would be coherent. Pray that the same compassionate, loving, sweet Elizabeth that we all know wakes up.

I know we are all scared right now.... but I am claiming this verse of scripture that a sweet follower of Elizabeth's blog posted yesterday:

"Because [s]he loves me," says the LORD, "I will rescue [her]; I will protect [her], for [s]he acknowledges my name. [S]he will call upon me, and I will answer [her]; I will be with [her] in trouble, I will deliver [her] and honor [her]. Prayers for Elizabeth...

I want to dedicate this post to my friend Elizabeth.

On Sunday, September 12 three best friends were involved in a car accident on I40 heading towards Conway. The wreck happened around 1:30 am. Two of the passengers were rushed to a local hospital where they were treated and released for minor injuries. Elizabeth, the third passenger was unconscious at the scene and med flighted to the hospital.


Elizabeth suffered from a bruised lung and was set up on a ventilator to help her breathe. She has been sedated since then from the intubation. She is recovering in Intensive Care. She has had several scans of her brain, all revealing no signs of brain swelling or bleeding. Until Elizabeth can be awake, the full extent of her brain injury (if any) cannot be known.

Elizabeth thankfully has not suffered any other injuries such as broken bones or internal bleeding. At this time doctors are awaiting her lung to heal so that sedation can be lowered and the intubation removed. At that time she can be better assessed.

 Elizabeth, you are such a strong beautiful person.  Hang in there.  We love you so very much!

Frugal...

Hello... I am back. Have you missed me?  Life has been crazy busy.  Work is taking everything that I have plus some.  When I go home, I don't want to be anything but a hermit.  Sad I know, but hey, that's life.

 As everyone knows, this economy sucks.  Watching my family be affected by it makes me really put things in perspective.  Life isn't about glitz and glamour.  So I have decided to start becoming frugal and try to become debt FREE. This is going to be extremely hard for me because I am not a saver.  Never have been.  I can't save a dollar if it killed me.  I am not good with money, I don't know how to budget money, and I don't know how to spend money (the correct way). So I am going to start putting most of my earnings into a savings.  Not a big fan of banks so it won't be a "bank" savings account.  I am going to do like my great grandfather did, bury coffee cans of money.  Maybe not to that extent but I am going to have a hidy hole or two. 

We shall see how it goes....  so friends, if I say no, it isn't because I am being mean, just trying to save money.

Weekend Recap...

This weekend was very good... very relaxing for the most part... Friday night I arrived to LR and my lovely man cooked dinner...

biscuits from scratch... yum mm!

I sat and drank wine, read a gossip magazine while he was slaving away... I am very spoiled!

Saturday we decorated... which tested the relationship... to say the least.  We almost had a divorce and we aren't even married.  In the end, it turned out great and J was soooo thankful that he listened to me  :) We went to dinner at a Chinese restaurant and then we came home and relaxed.

Sunday J made breakfast and while he watched golf, I got to finish my book.

If you love a romantic book... you would love this.  So good.  Going to buy the next one tonight!

Then I came back and was so excited to put my new lamp shades on that I bought to find that one is all bent... :( this is my luck.  Look around the bottom... it is driving my crazy!

That was my weekend.... I have some requests for pictures of my apartment so I will be posting those this week.  Also, I will be painting my cousin C-man a razorback for his room. So I will keep you posted.  Have a great week!  Ta Ta for now...

Today is Friday! I couldn't be happier...

Today started off very early for me.  I was up at 4 am and at work by 5:30 am.  I have a group of 550 teachers here for an in-service.  I am very scared about my kids (when I have kids) being taught by some of these teachers.  Out of all the years I have been doing event coordinating, by far, the teachers are the most difficult to work with. #1 reason- they do not know how to follow instructions.  Isn't that what they are suppose to be teaching your kids?  and #2 reason-  they do not know how to read signs.  If it says do not enter, they enter.  If it says do not park here or you will be towed, they come running into the office in a tizzy because their car is about to be towed and wondering why?  What in the world? Didn't you read the sign? What sign?  My point exactly.... ha ha. #3 reason- they dirty the bathroom quicker than you can count to ten... who would have thought?  Just a little something that I wanted to share... a day in the event world... no one would notice but me.


I am off to the big city of LR tonight to see my man.  He just moved into an apartment down there so he wants me to come help him decorate. I can already see some tiffs coming on.  He is a very go with the flow kind of guy but yet very stubborn about certain things... like not letting me paint his ugly end tables and coffee table... so we shall see!  I usually always win. :)

Whoa-La...

The chair is finished... I know, it doesn't look much different but I did wash the fabric (which made it brighter) and painted the legs white.  This picture is from my phone so it isn't great quality.  She is finally in her new home.  She will be much loved.

DIY gone bad....

So I have 2 lamp shades that look like this...

I wanted something new... but I really didn't want to buy new shades.  So I found this picture and thought I could do that... that is exactly what it needs.... (the bottom shade)

I went to Hobby Lobby and purchased all the items I needed... plus some items for J's new apartment... and hurried home to get started.  I painted my lamps (they used to be orange to now white) and I painted some picture frames to go in my bathroom... and then I started cutting felt. Cutting and cutting and cutting, drinking wine and cutting some more.... I then started gluing on the pieces... got half way done and decided I better place it on the lamp to see what it would look like.... I HATE it... It is way too much... not what I thought I needed.  So I am now back to square one with a whole lot of white felt and 2 lamps that need 2 new lamp shades...  

This is the shade I need... maybe different colored stripes...

Me read? What? ...

I have become quite the reader lately (I used to HATE reading with a passion)... I decided to start reading the Nora Roberts Bride Quartet series.  I got the first one in the mail yesterday.  I love half.com... you can get books for CHEAP! The 1st book is titled "Visions in White".  I started it last night and so far so good.  I like the girly girl books... no vampires for me!  I will keep you updated...

So I saw this pretty lady while driving past a yard sale... I made mom stop the car so I could go look at it... I just knew she would cost more then the budget allowed.... but to my surprise, she was only $5.... so I snatched her up and took her home to operate! She was already beautiful so there wasn't much to do but I will show the "after" picture once it gets ozoned.  There was a family of spiders living in her :(
